Things to Know about Edmonton
Edmonton is a very spread-out city, which creates a range of neighbourhood "personalities". The majority of these are virtually inaccessible without a car, and are primarily residential. As a visitor, the neighbourhoods worth knowing about are :
Weather in Edmonton in July
- Old Strathcona Near the University of Alberta and centred around Whyte Avenue. It's where the cool kids are.
- Downtown - Commercial Core It's where the cool kids aren't. Primarily office buildings with no real residential areas mean downtown is practically a ghost town after dark.
- Downtown - Arts District Centred around Churchill Square are the Art Gallery of Alberta, the Winspear Centre and the Public Library. Festivals are often staged in the square.
- McCauley Just Northeast of Downtown, home to Edmonton's small Chinatown and Little Italy.
- West Edmonton Notable only for the very large mall.

And, oh yeah, a little bit about the wedding...
You've already seen the invitation, so you know that at roughly 4:30 p.m., we will be walking up the aisle to tie our futures together in legally wedded bliss.
The bbq will start roughly around 6 p.m., and will be followed by the best party we can throw.
At the risk of sounding gauche, we'd like to point out that gifts are not required. Your company is more than enough. Plus, not only do we already own a toaster, but carrying a new one home with us on the plane might mean we have to leave other small items, like our daughter, behind. Sure, she doesn't defrost bread, but we're a gluten-free family anyway, so it's not a major concern for us.
